It’s been a while since I posted a blog on art, so I thought I’d share this nice little find.

It’s the work of Polish artist Marta Klonowska. Using carefully broken and intricate shards of glass, she has created a collection of beautiful, translucent animals in life-like size.

To me the good bit, or the twist, is her overall concept behind these sculptures. All of the pieces are based on animals found in famous baroque paintings by artists such De Goya and Rubens.

It’s a lovely idea and each one is perfectly executed. Although, I can’t help thinking about how many plasters she went through by the time the project was finished?
